Leah + Pat // Carvin's Cove in the fall

It’s funny how a beautiful place can be less than an hour from where you grew up and yet you never went. I’ve known of Carvin’s Cove forever, but had never been, let alone do a session here, so when Leah + Pat suggested it for their engagement photos towards the peak colors of fall, I was so excited. I may have a lot of love for Shenandoah and the mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway, but getting to shoot at a totally-new-to-me place with a very different canvas is a special change of pace.

My jaw pretty much dropped when we walked up to the water here. Pat + Leah made my job very easy, and we had a great evening of wandering and really bringing the environment into these portraits.

Plus, we found Bigfoot. 10/10, would do this day all over again.

So excited to photograph their wedding in the fall at another new place close to where I grew up.
