Shenandoah National Park engagement photos in the setting sun
I'm always adding places to my list of "must shoot" locations. Stony Man was one of the first on that list, so when Sarah told me "Mason and I just want to go on an adventure in the National Park - you can pick where," I knew where we were going. We started off wandering around the golden, glimmering vastness of Big Meadows and then headed up to Stony Man for sunset. The peak was pretty full of people, but we snuck off to some side and found some cliffs Sarah + Mason could have totally to themselves.
I knew from the moment I started talking with Sarah that this was going to be a special one - the way her & Mason talk about each other is not something you see every day and their story that runs back to high school and being each others' first kiss is also pretty dang special. I love stepping away on shoots and giving couples space to fill with their own personalities. Sarah + Mason filled this space with love, laughter, and cute nicknames. Letβs just say I definitely wasn't surprised when they got engaged a month after this shoot. Real stoked to photograph their River Farm wedding in Alexandria in a couple months.
