A Blind Whino wedding with a bold, artistic vision
A note from THE FUTURE: In 2021, the Blind Whino was re-branded as Culture House. Despite the new name, the interior and exterior remain just as badass and unique as pictured here. So, enjoy this Blind Whino wedding photography that is also, coincidentally, Culture House wedding photography. Magic!
Where were we? Just like their engagement session where we traversed all over DC, this day was a little too much to put into words, so I’ll keep this as brief as I can. Dani + Eugene were radiant with love for one another (as always) from the moment they saw each other during their first look, but dang. Thinking back to helping these two with the early days of their planning process, Dani + Eugene moved their wedding up an entire year just so they could celebrate at the Blind Whino, an old-church-turned-vibrant-community-space-slash-art-gallery, before it closed for renovations and I trusted them but didn’t fully understand until walking through the doors of the Whino on this November afternoon. It was totally worth the slight rescheduling chaos.
I’ve never documented a wedding that’s felt so uniquely, weirdly, perfectly designed for a couple and I know I’ll never see another celebration quite like this one. This was largely Dani + Eugene’s vision, but a serious shout-out to every single fellow artist who made this come together, from the minimalist monstera leaf art adorning the walls where they said their vows through the food designed to represent different neighborhoods of the District and this venue space with so so much character. Credits are at the bottom and they are all incredible. What a way to finish a year.
There are entirely too many moments to mention and they’re much better seen than talked about, so without further ado, this is the story of their day.
